Our fundamental privacy principle
The information that you supply to the Virtual Florist is considered confidential and will not be shared with others.
Are Virtual Card messages private?
All card information (including e-mail addresses) is considered private information
and will not be shared with others. When you send a virtual card, an e-mail
notification is sent to the recipient, and optionally to you which includes a pickup code
used to view the card message. The card information is stored on our server for 4 weeks
and then permanently deleted.
Is my membership information private?
Signing up as a member of the Virtual Florist, which is totally optional, allows you access to
certain enhanced features. To sign up, you must provide some personal information.
Your membership name and e-mail address are considered private information and will not be
shared with others. We use the demographic information you provide us in aggregate, to better
understand our customers and this aggregate information (which does not identify you as an
individual) may be shared with others. If you opt to receive Fun Mail, we will from time to
time send you news and promotional information about the Virtual Florist. You may opt-out of
receiving this mail as described later in this privacy statement.
Is my Address Book private?
If you are a member, Virtual Florist provides you with the opportunity to use our
address book to keep track of important e-mail addresses. Address book information is considered
private information and will not be used for promotional purposes by the Virtual Florist or
disclosed to others.

If you are a member, Virtual Florist provides you with the opportunity to set reminders for
important holidays and occasions. The reminders we send at your request will often include
links to our site for relevant products and other content. Reminder notification information
is considered private information and will not be disclosed to others.
Are Contest Responses private?
Periodically, Virtual Florist will encourage customers to participate in a contest. The
information we collect from these contests will only be used to contact you or the recipient
of the contest prize. The contest information is considered private information and will
not be disclosed to others. The only exception to this statement is with respect to the
contest winners, whose names must be posted per the contest rules.
What are Cookies and how does Virtual Florist use them?
A cookie is a small file that can be stored on your computer's hard drive. Virtual Florist
uses cookies to support the features associated with membership, to temporarily store reply
information, to disable sound, and to better understand customer choices. The membership cookie does not
contain any identifiable information about you. If you reject cookies, you can still use
our site to send virtual cards, but you will not be able to use the additional features
available to members, to automatically reply to messages, or disable sound.
What is an IP address and how does Virtual Florist use them?
An IP address is a number that is assigned to your computer when you are using your browser
on the Internet. The servers that run our web site identify your computer by its IP address.
We do log IP addresses, but the addresses are not linked to individual member accounts nor
are they used in any other way to personally identify our customers. We do include the IP
address in the notification e-mail sent to the card recipient as an aid in tracking undesired
messages.
Does Virtual Florist ensure the privacy practices of other sites to which it provides links?
The Virtual Florist contains links to other Web sites including the Internet Florist. Please be
aware that our privacy policy does not apply to these linked sites. We encourage you to read
the posted privacy statement when interacting with any Web site.
Are there any circumstances where you would share my private information?

or shared with appropriate law enforcement or investigative authorities if we in good faith
believe that such action is necessary to; (1) comply with the law, (2) defend our rights;
(3) protect against misuse of our website; or (4) protect the personal safety of our site
users or the public. The purpose of this disclosure would be to identify, contact or bring
legal action against anyone who may attempt to cause injury to another's rights or property.
How do I tell Virtual Florist that I don't want to be contacted for promotional purposes?
If you use our site to send a free card, please understand that you may receive promotional e-mail from us.
This promotional e-mail will include a link to an opt-out web page. By clicking on this link you will be given the
opportunity to permanently remove your e-mail address from our mail list. The recipient of you virtual card will not
receive promotional mail and no e-mail addresses are shared with any third party.
